The funding period and main research activities of the BogFires project ended in summer 2012. More publications will follow as they are submitted and accepted. This site will remain passive. In terms of music related research in IDBM, we have started a new project called FLUID; you can follow our progress here:

BogFires is a research project (2008-2012) on FINNISH METAL AND HARD ROCK--- with particular focus on the internationalization structures and practices, concept creation and commercialization, within the field in general and in the case of specific Finnish bands --- as well as on the phenomenon and culture of heavy metal in general.
The project is being conducted at the Aalto University School of Economics by Professor Antti Ainamo, Research Director Toni-Matti Karjalainen and Doctoral Researcher Laura Laaksonen. The project is funded by the Academy of Finland.
